Milling in 3D is done using an electrode which reproduces a design by following a complex trajectory generated by the CAM-software which uses a 3D drawing as an input. The diameter of the cylindrical electrode is Ø 0.3 mm; finer electrodes are machined by a device which is integrated in the micro-milling machine. This is where true micro-milling is put at work.
